Abraham Ogunkanmbi is a distinguished educationist & teacher with a career spanning over 37 years in the education industry. He has worked at Nursery/Primary schools, Secondary and Tertiary institutions in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom.

He holds a B.Ed (Hons) in Guidance and Counseling/Political Science from the University of Ibadan; a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Benin; an International Montessori Diploma from London Montessori Centre, UK; a Montessori Trainers’ Certificate from Montessori Centre International, UK and an advanced Diploma in Senior Leadership and Educational Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa

He was a teacher and later Montessori Director of Training at Igbinedion Education Centre, Benin-City (1992 - 2000). He later joined Littleland Junior School, Lagos as the Head of School for three productive years.

Mr. Ogunkanmbi was employed by Greensprings School Lagos in 2003 and occupied several managerial positions such as Vice-Principal, Principal, the Programme Director at Greensprings Montessori Centre, and Head - Greensprings Training College, Lagos, from where he has trained over 3,000 teachers in Nigeria and West Africa. He led Greensprings Montessori Centre, Lagos to achieve a great feat of becoming a MACTE accredited Training Centre in Nigeria in October 2017 which is a testament to his dedication and drive for excellence. He was a member of Greensprings Senior Leadership Team and participated in creating and executing strategic decisions that led to the growth of the school’s population and her international recognition within the academic community.

He is also a Consultant and National Trainer of Thinking Schools under Thinking Matters, UK and Thinking Schools International. He has led other National Trainers to train the Thinking School Drive Teams of schools in Lagos, FCT, Delta, Enugu and Anambra States.

Mr. Ogunkanmbi was the Deputy Head of School – Secondary and the Acting Head of School, Lead British International School, Abuja Nigeria (September, 2021 – July, 2022). He is currently the Head of School, Lead British International School, Abuja Nigeria (August 2022 till date).

An ardent researcher and writer, he has published many articles in local and international journals and magazines. His areas of interests are: Teenager and Adolescent Behaviour management, Techniques in passing international examinations, Students’ Discipline, Professionalism in teaching and learning, The Montessori Method of Education, growing a school, Evaluation and Assessment in Secondary education, Guidance and Counselling, Teacher training, SEN and Inclusive education, Financial accounting, School Start-up and writing of feasibility studies for schools, project management, etc.

One of his anchoring philosophies is the belief that ‘’every child can achieve irrespective of their individual differences’’. He loves working with teachers, students and parents to support educational progress and development in schools. He has a wide experience of leading and working in renowned international secondary schools that run both the Nigerian and foreign curricula like, WAEC, NECO, Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE.

He is widely travelled, having visited some countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. He has attended several international workshops, seminars and conferences in Nigeria and overseas including IGCSE training, Senior educational/management leadership training, and IPC curriculum. He is a member of Counselors Association of Nigeria, Association of Personnel Management, American Montessori Society and International Association of Secondary School Educators.

His hobbies include reading, dancing, footballing, travelling, farming, counselling adolescents, marriage counselling, swimming and meeting people.

Abraham Ogunkanmbi remains a well sought after speaker and trainer at conferences and seminars in Nigeria. He is also a school administrator, Guidance Counselor, teacher-trainer, educational/management consultant, researcher, life coach and mentor. He is an author and has published three books. He is happily married and has three children.
