Lead British International School (LBIS) is amongst the best schools in Nigeria. We are part of a family of schools that has been established for the past 15 years in Abuja. We are a co-educational school that started in September, 2007. We are delighted to have opened our doors in Ibadan last year, September 2017 with Early Years, Primary and Secondary sections.

The school vision is to build and equip future leaders.

Our mission is to develop future leaders by providing a range of world class educational and social experiences in a conducive learning environment equipped for needs of our pupils in order to empower them with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to be self-reliant in a competitive, global world.

The core values of the school are Discipline, Truthfulness, Self-Reliance and Creativity.
LBIS is a place of excellence where students are trained to be at their best – confident, disciplined courteous, highly intelligent and hardworking. We set the best international education standards whilst simultaneously preserving our heritage and identity as Nigerians.

Our curriculum is a blend of British and Nigerian curricula which appreciates Nigerian and West African standards of education whilst preparing our children to be global citizens through a British National Curriculum that permeates all sections. This ensures that your learners get the best of both worlds. They are prepared to be Nigerians as well as global citizens who are well attuned to life in the 21st century and beyond.

In our secondary section we prepare our students through national and international exams including BECE, NECO, WAEC, Checkpoint and IGCSE.
Our curriculum gives the opportunity for your child (ren) to excel and qualify for any exam and/or school in the world.
Our curriculum is also supported by a range of extra-curricular activities which enrich, enhance and extend learning beyond the classroom with a strong focus on both academics and sports.

We are partners with a range of international organisations and exam boards including WAEC, the British Council and Cambridge International Exams. Our partnership with the French Embassy has afforded regular support and training for our French teachers resulting in 100% of our students achieving DELF (Diplômed'étudesen Langue Française) in 2017.

LBIS boasts of state of the art facilities and a learning environment designed to ensure the smooth transition into Nigerian or foreign higher educational institutions. These include well equipped, air conditioned classrooms; a well-resourced library; comfortable girls' and boys' boarding facilities; modern Science Labs; an ICT Suite with access to interactive whiteboards and the latest technology, laptops for students; a modern cafeteria; a multipurpose hall; outdoor football pitch and tennis courts; and ample school grounds for our extensive programmes of outdoor learning activities.

Our staff are drawn from a range of fields and reflect a diversity of backgrounds with international experience and qualifications. All teachers have professional teaching qualifications and amongst our staff we have gifted and talented professionals with masters degrees and doctorates.

Our teachers guide the students through an integrated, hands-on British and Nigerian curriculum. Continuous professional development is the key to our high standards of provision and our forward looking outlook with teachers who have been awarded professional certificates by the University of Cambridge and the University of Birmingham in the UK.

As a school we have effective partnerships with parents who are seen as co-educators in their children’s educational journey. Through a student’s LBIS education, parents serve a vital role - they are essential partners in each child’s education. Extensive research and our own vast experience confirm that pupils do better in school when parents are involved. We provide many opportunities for parents to be fully involved in school life by attending assemblies, open days and special events as well as enlisting their support with home learning activities.

Our alumni are all excelling and topping their classes in their various higher institutions.
